Chakras or energy fields found in the body are said to balance spiritual harmony and physical attunement. Chakras are located along the spine from the tailbone to the top of the head or crown. This alignment is symbolic of the ladder to heaven. The Chakras not only correspond with parts of the body but it's believed that there are spiritual aspects to each one. Chakras are color coordinated as each hue has a symbolic spiritual reference.

Chakra Colors, Stones and Placement in the Body

The first Chakra is located at the bottom of the spine under the genitals. It is generically called the Root Chakra with the objective of grounding the person to the physical world. The first Chakra is said to aid in vigor, heredity, passion, feet and legs, trust, home, finances and occupation. The colors used in this Chakra are red and black. The stones utilized most frequently are red jasper, red agate, black obsidian, hematite, and black agate.

There are many ways to clear the negative energy from stones before use. Many are extreme and time consuming. The easiest way to cleanse a crystal or stone is to run it under cool water and air dry. Blowing on the stone and releasing warmth air will also work. Cleansing is a necessity. By releasing the energy from the last person who touched the stone, the user will replace their own energy into the crystal. If using crystals on someone else, make sure to cleanse before the healing session and after. The stones should be pure when they are used to heal, balance Chakras, bring good luck or remove negative energy. A spritz of sea or Kosher salt and water may also be used when clearing Chakra stones.
